Privacy
No accounts, no cookies, no tracking in the games — here is exactly what that means.
Scorewit makes daily sports-trivia games. This page describes what happens with data when you play — it is short because very little happens.
The short version
Scorewit games have no accounts and no logins. The games set no cookies, use no tracking identifiers, and carry no advertising. We do not build profiles of players and we do not sell or share personal information.
What stays on your device
Your daily streaks, past scores and followed teams stay in your browser's localStorage. Clearing browser data resets them. If you turn on reminders, only the reminder preferences described below are sent to the reminder service. Your scores, answers and streak history are not sent.
Optional notifications
Notifications are optional. Opt in after a round or in Stats on supported devices. Playing never requires notifications.
If you turn them on, the reminder service stores a push subscription or Apple push token, your chosen games, the time zone we use to send in the early evening, a delivery policy, app platform and version, a random subscription reference, and delivery bookkeeping (creation date, last attempt date, consecutive failures). Delivery diagnostics record attempt times, status and outcomes for up to seven days. These records exist only to send and manage reminders, never for analytics, advertising or profiles; we do not identify people or link devices. Our host and your browser's or Apple's push service handle delivery under their policies. Opt-ins, opt-outs and reminder opens add anonymous game-level counts to analytics, never tokens or references.
We send at most one reminder per subscription per local day, and only when your round is ready. Timing is approximate. We choose the delivery time; you choose the games.
Every reminder carries a Turn Off action (expand the notification on some devices), and the Stats panel on any page has the same control. Turning off deletes your record once the server confirms it; if you are offline, your device keeps the request and retries later. For 14 days a random marker with no token in it stops an already selected reminder from recreating the record. A reminder already handed to the push provider cannot be recalled. We also delete a record when the push provider reports the token invalid, or after five failed deliveries in a row. If the Turn Off control is gone, for example after clearing site data, your device's notification settings still stop reminders, and you can contact us for help.
Feedback
Feedback is optional and read by a person. We receive your message or report reason, game, page path, local and round dates, relevant question reference, platform, viewport class and app version. Difficulty reactions also include the round score. Email is optional and used only to reply. Submissions are delivered to our mailbox. Submissions are stored in our Upstash database for up to 90 days and archived in our private operations repository. Reports are checked against the match record. No play history or tracking identifier is attached. To limit abuse, an hourly hash of your network address expires within an hour and is not saved with feedback. Contact us to request deletion.
Hosting
Scorewit sites are served by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes IP addresses in ordinary server logs in order to deliver requests and protect the service. We do not use those logs to identify or track players.
Analytics
Analytics on Scorewit sites are cookieless and aggregate-only: no cookies, no persistent identifiers, no cross-site tracking, and IP addresses are not stored. We see counts — how many rounds were played — never people, and the numbers are not combined with any other data or shared with anyone. If you'd rather not be counted at all, settings (on the Stats panel) include an analytics-off switch that we honor.
Advertising
Scorewit pages carry no advertising today. If that ever changes, this page changes first: it will name the ad partners, describe what they collect, and link the choices you have — including the consent prompt shown where law requires one and a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control where US state law provides one. The daily game stays clean either way; any future ads belong on our stats and reference pages.
Children
Scorewit is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. Games do not require an account or reminders. If you believe a child has provided information through reminders or feedback, contact us so we can help remove it.
Your data, your rights
Privacy laws in various places (the EU and UK, California and other US states, and elsewhere) give you rights over personal data an operator holds about you, including access, correction, deletion and objection. Optional reminder subscriptions and feedback submissions are the limited records described above; there are no player accounts or profiles. You can change reminder preferences or delete a subscription using its device-local management controls. If you believe we hold personal data about you, or you have any privacy question or complaint, email us and we will answer plainly: hello@scorewit.com. Do not email push tokens or management secrets. If you cannot use the controls, contact us for help.

Every fact in a Scorewit game is computed from cited public data:
- World Cup match records via openfootball (public-domain data).
- Cricket ball-by-ball data via Cricsheet, used with attribution. See Sources and licences for the match-file terms.
- Formula 1 records via F1DB (CC BY 4.0).
- World Series game logs via Retrosheet (the information used here was obtained free of charge from and is copyrighted by Retrosheet).
- NFL play-by-play data via nflverse (nflfastR play-by-play data, CC BY 4.0).
